The appearance of the lanterns and the quality of the light will change with the type of bulb installed. No bulb should be more than 60 Watt.
Choose the coolest-burning incandescent or an efficient fluorescent (insure the fluorescent is designed to hang with the socket "up").
Please note that the lanterns are now made with brown lamp cord instead of the gold pictured.
